RESIDENTS and businesses are being asked to say a big ‘thank-you’ to Trafford’s unsung heroes – by putting forward nominations for the 2019 Volunteer Awards.

The scheme was launched by Trafford Council on Saturday June 1, as part of National Volunteer Week.

All nominees will be invited to a presentation hosted by the Mayor of Trafford, Cllr Rob Chilton, at Trafford Live on July 21.

The mayor said: “Volunteers and the groups they give their time to make a massive difference to Trafford’s communities and our residents.

“This is a small gesture to say thank you on behalf of the council to them, and the businesses that support their employees to volunteer.

“Trafford would not be the great place to live and work without our volunteers.”
