A LOVING dad is to raise money for a hospice by hosting a charity event.

A Flixton man is aiming to raise further funds for the charity, having already completed 3 English Channel Relay swims in the past for Help for Heroes and two for St Ann’s Hospice.

Ian Shaw did these as a tribute to his daughter Collete.

He said: “Collete was a remarkably strong person who bore her illness with stoicism and fortitude, plus brother James, family and friends."

The charity event will take place on June 21 at the John Alker Club, in Flixton Road and starts at 7:30pm.

St Ann’s Hospice is a charity which cares for thousands of people with life-limiting illnesses every year.

The hospice provides a free service to patients, carers and their loved ones from three sites in Greater Manchester, and a range of outreach services, supporting patients in the local community and their own homes.

Around a third of St Ann’s funding comes from the NHS, the rest from donations and the kind support of people who raise money to help patients and their families.

Therefore, every penny from supporters like Ian, makes a real difference to those who really need it–right when they need it most.

Tickets are £10 and can be obtain by telephoning Ian Shaw on 07738 516 885 or you can e-mail: ian.shaw@m-tec.com.
