Today’s picture from our archives shows tall industrial buildings dominating the skyline of Bolton in about 1932. The Town Hall can be seen in the middle distance with the three giant cranes that were used to build the new civic centre extension. The extension was built between 1932-39 to house the museum, library and courts.
