Today's picture from our archives features Bradshaw’s Royal Oak pub which was built in the 1830s and became the terminus of the local stage-coach run. During the 1890s, Harry Smit who is pictured at the door of the pub as the coachman makes ready to took it over as licencee and brought up his family there.
