FIVE people in Sale have got a thousand reasons to celebrate this Bank Holiday Monday after they woke up to the news that they have scooped a prize thanks to their lucky postcode.
Neighbours living in Mere Close, in the postcode area M33 2RT, have won on the People’s Postcode Lottery.
They will each receive £1,000 prize money.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said: “Finding out that you’ve won the lottery on a long bank holiday weekend is such lovely news, so I’m delighted for our winners in Sale. I hope they spoil themselves with the cash."
The lottery — which is different to the National Lottery in that it operates by people's postcodes and makes all the locations of winning areas public — is played every week by thousands of people across the UK.
It also gives a minimum of 32 per cent from each subscription directly to charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
