THE Canterbury Players’ next production is a typical Francis Durbridge play.
House Guest, a bloodier-than-average thriller, is packed with convoluted twists with enough surprises for a television serial!
Don’t forget that it was Francois Djurbridge who created Paul Temple.
In charge of all these twists and turns is a director who is new to the players, Julie Broadbent.
She said she had enjoyed stretching the actors and giving them the chance to explore their characters.
The backstage helpers have created an appropriate set.
The audience will discover how people get what they want when driven by love, money, power or hate.
It’s not a case of whodunnit but who is in cahoots with whom.
This is a 70th anniversary production.
*House Guest is at Brook Road Methodist Church, Flixton from Wednesday, May 8 to Saturday, May 11.
For tickets, priced £8, telephone 0161 748 8403.
Refreshments and programmes included.
