LATE night shopping launches in  Urmston tomorrow (Thursday) with a range of discount and special deals.

In a bid to showcase what the town has to offer and encourage people to shop local, independent traders will opening their doors 'til late once a month.

Known as Indie Urmston, it brings together bars, restaurants, fishmongers and record and many more retailers who want people to pop in and see what is on offer.

Scott Power, co-founder of Indie Urmston and proprietor of Get Chucked said:" It is great to see all the independents in "Urmston coming together to promote how our town’s offering is growing. It shows that we have a really strong community of local businesses who are willing to work together to encourage people from outside of Urmston to visit, as well as giving locals more of an opportunity to shop local with longer opening hours on a regular basis."

Businesses centred around Flixton Road, Station Road, and Higher Road are joining together for the monthly event to show neighbouring towns what they have to offer.

The regeneration of Urmston Market is quickly transforming the town into a food and drink destinations, with local independents opening.

These include Cicchetti and pizza place Mulino, along with The Cheese Court, Kin Bakehouse and independent fishmonger, What's The Catch The town also boasts independent shops including including Rose & Bumble, which stock items for the home and dancewear shop Fouette who specialise in dancewea Market 41 is also set to open in the South Manchester suburb soon, and is expected to focus on independents and small restaurants as well as artisan stalls.

The shops in Urmston will hold a late night shopping event every third Thursday of the month.

Discounts on Thursday include Fred's and Little Yu Boutique both offering 10 per cent off form 5pm until close.

Urmston Bookshop and Soul Records are also offerning 10 per cent off, with the same discount to be found at Get Chucked, the popular burger place, and at The Barking Dog which serves a variety of food There will be deals at The Assembly, Craft Brewtique and Prairie Schooner. Urmston’s own wine bar, Kelder, will also be offering discounts on the night.

The shops in Urmston will hold a late night shopping event every third Thursday of the month.
