Temperatures across Greater Manchester are set to soar this weekend, with the area expected to have better weather than Benidorm.

The chilly spell we've been experiencing is set to break by Good Friday, with highs of 21 degrees C being forecast.

According to the Met Office, temperatures will rise from Wednesday and then throughout the week to give a dry and bright outlook.

Meanwhile, Benidorm is looking at a whole lot of rain and temperatures of 18 degrees C.

Forecaster Simon Partridge said Good Friday will be pleasant before the mercury rises on Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures on Easter Monday are then expected to dip slightly, with highs of 17 degrees C.

Mr Partridge said: "After there was a chilly spell this weekend, we are going to see temperatures gradually increase through the week.

"By the weekend we could see in parts of the country temperatures of around 20C, or just above."
