IT has been one year since my first Wayne's World column and I have absolutely loved sharing my journey with you. Happy first birthday Wayne's World!

Throughout the year, I have not only let you know about what I'm up to with my singing, acting and charity work, but I've also tried my best to promote the borough of Trafford and all the great people we have living here.

I'm especially proud of my home town of Urmston and I've also tried to let other parts of the borough know about what we have going on here.

As well as all that, I have also brought you some celebrity interviews with a selection of well-known faces who have a Trafford connection.

I was thrilled to have Ian McShane as my first interview and we are still in touch via email.

Ian is not only an amazingly talented actor, but he's also a lovely, genuine gentleman who lived here in Urmston before heading off to Hollywood.

As an acting role model for me, I will always be proud that he was my first interview. Thank you, Ian.

From that interview, I then brought you Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor, from Altrincham, An Idiot Abroad's Karl Pilkington, from Sale, and the Malone family from Gogglebox, who come from Stretford.

All lovely people who were proud to share their experiences of Trafford with us, I am grateful to them all.

Mostly, I'd like to thank you, the readers of Wayne's World, for your continued support and lovely comments.

I am also extremely grateful for the gifts that I have been sent, from a bottle of Frank Sinatra whiskey to Wayne's World hats and cups. They are all very much appreciated.

I am very privileged to have this opportunity to write for you each week and I look forward to sharing another exciting year with you all.

Don't forget tickets are on sale for the upcoming charity Rat Pack evening, at which I’ve been invited to perform, which is being held at The Venue in Westbourne Road in Urmston.

It's on April 27 at 7pm. I hope to meet some Wayne's World readers on the night. Tickets are available, £10 each, by emailing darrengregory@hotmail.co.uk or by phoning 07970 222 204.

Val and I will be organising our own event, Croon into Christmas, later in the year.

See you next week!
