Travellers have frequently set up camp at Silver Lane in Risley
TRAVELLERS have left land at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub – but have set up camp at Silver Lane in Risley.
Warrington Borough Council obtained a court order to remove travellers from land at the hub yesterday, Thursday, after the group ignored a section 77 notice.
The Cheshire and Warrington traveller team will be visiting the group at Silver Lane today.
The authority has almost £2 million set aside to fund a transit site for travellers.
It would allow officers to direct groups to the land, with senior Town Hall figures confident that it would dramatically reduce the number of unlawful encampments across the borough.
