THIS week I enjoyed a trip to the Palace Theatre to see Les Miserables with my wife, Val.

I absolutely love the whole experience of going to the theatre, from putting on my suit and getting ready, to listening to the orchestra warming up and the build up to the performance itself.

Now, I know I've mentioned this before, but I have total respect for stage actors.

They don't get the option to 'cut' and go again as you do on screen.

They have to be spot on every time and this production was very much spot on.

My only complaint of the evening was not about the production itself, which was out of this world, but about certain members of the audience messing about with their phones or iPhone watches and talking during the performance.

Isn't that frustrating?

I think it is not only rude and off putting to audience members who are there to be lost in the world of the theatre, but also a total disrespectful insult to the cast and crew who spends years perfecting their craft.

Anyway, apart from the brief interruptions of the odd few, Val and I loved our visit to the Palace Theatre and can't wait for our next show.

I'd like to let you know about a charity Rat Pack evening that I have been invited to perform at.

The Venue, in Westbourne Road in Urmston, is holding a charity night to raise funds for its chosen charities — Francis House, Blood Bikes and the Air Ambulance Fund, and I have been asked to perform two 45-minute sets of Sinatra and the Rat Pack classics.

This will be a lovely evening here in Urmston and I hope the Trafford community will all come along and support it.

I will be staying for the whole evening so I hope that you will, after my performance, come and say hello and have a chat.

I'd love the opportunity to meet and say thank you to all the Wayne's World readers and all those who have supported my singing events over the years.

The event takes place on April 27 and starts at 7pm. Tickets are £10 each and can be obtained by telephoning Darren Gregory on 07970 222 204 or you can email Darren at darrengregory@hotmail.co.uk

I hope to see you all there!
