LAST week I wrote about my home town of Urmston and its progression with new bars and restaurants.

week I want to let you know about one of Urmston's little hidden gems.

In Higher Road, in the centre of Urmston, is an unassuming Greek restaurant named Santorini.

It has been there for about two years now after a successful run in the Steamhouse pub in Urmston and it is extremely popular.

It really is a fantastic taste of Greece right here in the heart of Urmston.

Val and I recently booked a table and had a lovely meal there.

It's not just the outstanding service you receive, but also the food really is amazing.

If you've never been to a Greek restaurant before, or you love Greek food, then I highly recommend you try Santorini.

Thank you so much to Koyla and Akis for the wonderful hospitality, the absolutely beautiful meal and for my first ever sample of Ouzo!

I've had a few more auditions recently and I've been put on pencil for one in particular, keep your fingers crossed for me if you will.

With myself and Val representing me now, fully with both my singing and my acting, things are really starting to happen for me.

I will, of course, keep you posted.

My philosophy has always been to work hard, stay focussed and polite and always professional and that applies to all aspects of my life.

It's great having Val beside me as focussed and committed as I am and I can't wait to share things with you as and when I'm able to.

I've been asked my opinion about the use of the internet for promoting events, etc, and for career progression.

I think it's very easy to get caught up in the social media world of Facebook, Twitter, etc, but our experience is that you need to be out in the real world.

Of course use social media — it's a tool there to be used — but it's only one tool of many. Don't pin all your hopes on it.

I've seen events that only advertised on Facebook and when the day of the event arrived hardly anyone turned up. Not everyone uses Facebook.

My advice is pound the streets and speak to people, use the internet by all means to email the world and promote to the world on your social media, but get out into that world yourself and make it personal.

The more you put into it, the more you'll get out.

See you next week.
