TO start with this week, I'm really pleased to let you know that I got the role I have been auditioning for!

It's a small role, but it's not just about the end result for me — it’s about being cast by a top casting director.

I wanted to share the process with you from start to finish of how an actor gets a role.

For even the smallest of roles there's a whole host of hoops to jump through before you ever step foot in front of the camera.

As you've read in my previous columns, you have your initial audition, then if successful, a call back, which is basically a second audition (and sometimes even a third).

Then you, along with a few other actors get put "on pencil" for the role.

Eventually you get notified if you've been chosen or not.

Then you get asked to a wardrobe day (which I went to earlier in the week) where they pick out your clothes for the shoot.

You might be asked in for a read through of the script, then, finally you get to the part you've longed for, to act on camera!

So that's the whole process of being cast from start to finish, that I recently went through.

It's for a commercial and I film it this week. It’s aired in February so not long to wait. I will let you know what it is and when it's on! I'm also shortlisted for another role, so fingers crossed again please.

The support I get from Wayne's World readers is absolutely fantastic and I'm really grateful to you all for that.

Please carry on emailing questions/comments — I do read them all.

I'd like to thank Paul and Margaret for the lovely Wayne's World cup they gave me.

I will enjoy my cup of tea in it as I write my column each week.

I've been asked what my social media links are. I'm on Facebook as 'The Wayne Devlin Page' and on Instagram and Twitter as @MrWayneDevlin If you use any of them I hope you will give me a follow. You can also visit my website waynedevlin.com

Finally, I've been asked what my favourite experience on a TV set was.

That would have to be when I filmed a Peter Kay Comic Relief video and spent most of the day in a minibus with comedians Tom O'Connor and Mick Miller, singer Ray Quinn and darts champion Phil 'the power' Taylor.

We spent most of the day telling jokes, laughing and singing and having a great time! So that was my favourite day on a set.

See you all next week!
