A NOVELIST will be discussing the latest chapters in his life as part of National Story Telling Week.

Paul Beatty will be attending the special event at Sunrise Care Home in Hale Barns from 3pm to 4pm on January 30 with residents, friends, family and members of the community are welcome to enjoy afternoon tea.

Mr Beatty has held a long and varied career, including working as a research scientist and engineer in the health service and at various universities across the country for over thirty years.

He specialised in patient safety, medical instrumentation and has over a hundred research papers and presentations to his name.

Mr Beatty retired in 2011 to become a full time novelist and his first novel, Heron Fleet, was published in July, 2013. He is currently engaged on a series of Victorian whodunnits set around Stockport in the 1840s.
