BRASS and Voices, a concert for the Mayor’s Charity Fund will take place at the Salvation Army church, Ashton Lane, Sale, on Saturday, February 2 at 7pm.

For the second time,12-year-old chorister Oscar Fairclough, from Sale, will perform.

He is Foundationer Chorister with Manchester Cathedral Choir. He won the Junior Repertoire Cup for singing at Heaton Mersey Music Festival and Junior Chorister of the year at Bowdon Festival.

This year, Oscar will perform Bis du Bel Mir by Johann Sebastian Bach and Empty Chairs at Empty Tables by Claude-Michel Schonberg, both from his diploma syllabus.

Many other voices from three different choirs will be heard.

The youngest will be the award winning Meadway Youth Choir whilst their older sisters in the Meadway Singers will also display their vocal skills.

The sopranos and altos will be offset by the bass and tenor voices of Sale Male Voice Choir.

Making sure that the room is full of sound, Sale Brass will present some of their most rousing numbers.

The Mayor of Trafford, Cllr Tom Ross, is looking forward to attending the concert which will be in aid of his charity fund.
