I MADE a new year’s resolution for my acting career that I would knock on every door this year and actively pursue my acting goals, building on what I’ve already done and starting to build up my acting credits for larger, speaking roles.
The very first door I knocked on this year opened up for me and I got invited to my first audition of the year.
It was great to get back in front of the camera and do my scenes and I really enjoyed it. I will let you know if I get the part. Fingers crossed!
For every acting role, there are a thousand actors wanting the part, so to even get the opportunity to audition is a small victory and I will take all the victories I can!
The year has also started off well for my singing with two festivals inviting me to perform.
The first will be Urmston’s Party on the Pitch, which is a two day event on May 25 and 26.
It will be held at Urmston Sports Club in Moorside Road, Urmston. It has some fantastic acts performing at it. To name just a few, The Bootleg Beatles, Bowie Room, Small Weller, Peter Sarsfield who won Stars in their Eyes as Frankie Vali, Stax of Soul, Rule The World — Take That tribute, The Original Jukebox Heroes and the Osmonds! Yes, we will be having two of the actual Osmonds (Merrill and Jay) performing live in Urmston! It’s going to be a brilliant event.
I have been invited to open Party on the Pitch on both days and I will be singing a couple of rat pack standards to kick things off.

The second confirmed festival is the Hale Barns Carnival on July 20 and 21, which was fantastic last year and promises to be even better this year with headline act Martin Kemp!
The full line up will be released next week but I have had permission to let you know that I will be performing on Sunday, July 21, and I hope you will jot that in your diaries and come along and support.
