WELCOME to the first Wayne’s World of 2019!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and Val and I send you all our very best wishes for the new year!

Christmas for us is all about family and we had a great time with our lads, eating, drinking, playing games and watching Christmas television. We love a good Christmas film, too!

The run-up to Christmas is always busy for us with my performances at various Christmas lights events and concerts, etc, so it was lovely to come home, close the door on the world and gather together for family time. It really has been a lovely holiday.

Between Christmas and New Year, or “Twixmas” as I believe some people call it!

We had the Devlin Bookings Christmas work’s night out . . . so that was just me and my Val then! We call it our works night out but really its our date night!

We kept passing a new bar that has recently opened on the corner of Higher Road in Urmston called, appropriately, The Corner Lounge, so we decided to start our night out there and see what it was like.

We were very impressed with the place. The barman was friendly and chatty and the atmosphere was lovely. It’s a really nice place to socialise. We will definitely go there again.

From there we called in to The Three Barrels in Flixton Road and were instantly made to feel welcome by the landlord and landlady Alan and Jane. The bar was bustling and we really enjoyed our drinks and the good company before heading off for our meal.

Staying in Flixton Road, we had booked a table at Mamma Maria’s. We have been before and were very impressed. It has now become our first choice for an Italian meal in Urmston — a warm friendly welcome, delicious food and outstanding service.

They even seated me underneath a portrait of Frank Sinatra — perfect!

It was a lovely end to our year and a great rest from work. We feel refreshed now and ready to take on the new year. I have great plans for 2019 and look forward to letting you know all about them and what I get up to throughout the year.

I hope you will stick with us and come along for the ride!

Happy New Year everyone and see you next week!
