A MODEL was left in a critical condition in intensive care after an ulcer burst in his stomach.

Danny Byrne has had to undergo five blood transfusions following the sudden rupture, which left him hospitalised.

The 26-year-old was rushed into A&E on Monday by his partner Georgie Lummis because he began vomiting large quantities of blood.

Although he is currently stable, subcontracted builder and model Danny is unable to work which means he is without an income.

While he receives treatment, friends have rallied round to raise funds and support him.

Georgie, his girlfriend, said: “He’s had about five blood transfusions and he’s had a camera in his stomach to look for the problem. They then had to take him into theatre.

“Luckily he didn’t need emergency surgery but the hospital staff told us it was life-threatening and we needed to prepare ourselves for the worst.

“He has stabilised but he could have died."

Friend Paul Cain, from Radcliffe, set up a Go Fund Me page and hopes to raise £2,000.

He said: "Danny isn't able to work for a minimum of eight weeks and he doesn't receive sick pay. If he doesn't work, he doesn't earn.

"He’s stable thanks to some fantastic surgical work however he’s not through the woods yet.

"Any help and support to get him and his family through the coming weeks post any hospital rehabilitation would be much appreciated."
