AS part of its Toys and Tins appeal, Altrincham Rotary members will appear a number of venues over the coming weeks and in the run up to Christmas.

One of the appeal organisers, Ken Garrity, said: “The boxes are in place at a number of businesses including Rackhams House of Fraser, Wilko, Randalls Jewellers, Salvation Army on George Street, M&S, Luxistore in Timperley and Ashbrooks Furniture, Washway Road Sale.

“The appeal is to help those underprivileged families throughout Trafford who will not receive any presents at all. The toys will help brighten up a bleak time and give them some happiness at this time of year.

He added: “Toys will be collected and delivered to Salvation Army HQ in Sale and from there they will be delivered together with some festive treats to these families.”

The members and Santa will appear at on Saturdays between 11am and 4pm at: The Ivy, Kings Court on Saturday; The House Bar and Restaurant, Goose Green on December 8; The Old Post Rooms, Stamford New Road, on December 15; and Tesco Altrincham on December 21, 22 and 23.
