POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a driver involved in a collision in Davyhulme suffered a stroke.
The incident involved a blue Toyota Aygo and a red Ford Transit, close to the junction of Davyhulme Road and Pleasant Drive, Davyhulme, shortly after 4pm on Saturday.
The Ford Transit driver sustained no injuries.
Police say that while being treated in an ambulance, the Toyota driver, a man in his 70s, suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
Phil Shaw of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts remain with the man and his family at this very difficult time.
“We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicles prior to the incident, or has dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
