THREE men who voluntary attended a police station in relation to two reports of suspected attempted child abduction in Bolton and Bury were neither detained nor arrested.

A police spokesman said: "Their details have been retained and they are helping police with ongoing enquiries."

The trio spoke with police yesterday following reports of the attempted abductions earlier in the week.

Shortly after 3.40pm on Tuesday 13 November 2018, two 11-year-olds were walking along Spring Lane in Radcliffe.

A white Transit-style van with a sliding door was stationary at traffic lights at the junction with Blackburn Street.

It was reported to police that a person in the van demanded the children get inside, before unsuccessfully attempting to grab one of the children’s coats, before the children ran off.
