Police investigating a firearms discharge in Trafford have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
At around 10pm on Tuesday July 3, police received a report that masked men had confronted a man on Peveril Road, Altrincham and discharged a firearm towards him, before fleeing.
The man was uninjured.
Firearms officers attended and five shell casings were recovered from what is believed to be a blank-firing weapon.
Detective Constable Emma Cyprien from GMP’s Trafford Division said: “Since this incident occurred, police have been following several lines of enquiry. This has included forensic and ballistics analysis, as well as looking at CCTV evidence.
“Police believe that this was an isolated incident and that the firearm used was a blank-firing weapon. However, this was a terrifying episode for the man confronted.
“We have now released images of a man that we would like to speak to as part of our investigations. If you recognise this man, or have any information on this incident, please contact police immediately.”
Police can be contacted on 0161 856 7842 or information can be left with the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
