ICE hockey team Manchester Storm have retired their number 22 jersey in memory of the 22 people killed in the Manchester Arena terror attack on May 22 last year.

A one-minute silence was held before the team’s game against Sheffield Steelers on Saturday, September 22, followed by one minute’s applause in the 22nd minute to honour the work of the first responders and emergency service personnel.

A banner sporting the number 22, alongside the Manchester Bee, was also unveiled above the ice rink.

The banner will remain in place for the 2018/19 season.
