ARMED robbers broke into a pensioner’s home and threatened to stab her with screwdrivers.

Two men and a teenager forced their way into the woman’s home on Welwyn Close, Davyhulme in broad daylight on Thursday, September 20.

At 2.30pm, the 84-year-old victim was pushed aside at her front door.

The pensioner’s sister, who was visiting at the time of the incident, was also threatened by the men wielding screwdrivers.

The women were told to ‘shut up and keep quiet’ as the men ransacked the home.

Police are appealing to the public for information.

Two of the offenders are described as white and aged in their 20s. The third is described as white and around 16-years-old.

Police are conducting enquiries in the area and are reviewing CCTV footage.

Officers believe footage relating to a silver vehicle, possibly a VW Passat, may be linked to the robbery.

Detective Inspector Terry Chatterton said: “This was a cowardly robbery that has targeted an elderly woman and her sister in their own home, leaving them understandably terrified.

“We would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact police immediately.”
