POLICE are believed to be linking a shooting with a gunshot incident that occurred at a nearby street earlier this year.
Shots were fired at a house on Castle Street at around 9pm on Friday.
The front window of the property was damaged, as was the front door which was removed by police.
A witness said: "I heard two shots and at first I thought it was fireworks going off."
Police said there were no reports of any injuries at the house which is located near the junction with Back Bury New Road.
Another witness, who was returning to her home shortly after the shooting, was escorted to her front door by the police.
The road was cordoned off into Saturday, with police van, one tactical aid vehicle and a police car at the scene.
A police van was there on Sunday.
It is understood that police are linking it to a shooting in the area earlier this year.
