They say that goldfish grow to the size of their bowl - I'm beginning to think that might be the case with ducks too!

Billy is massive! He is now a fully-fledged duck, with a huge beak and that funny duck-look on his face. Ellie is getting big too - but its Billy who is making the most progress at the moment. So much so that his head is starting to brush the top of his pen and he's in danger of developing a stoop!

It's a good job then that today I picked up a new home for them from those very, very kind folks over at Trafford Cats Protection. Thanks to Pat and Judy (Tel: 0161 969 0331 if you would like to help them or need to discuss the re-homing of a cat - blatant plug I know but they deserve it), we now have a large pen to accommodate our not so little babies.

The pen is a duck version of a luxury penthouse studio with en-suite and kitchen area! I've also purchased two mop heads which I'm assured (by the lovely staff at Stockley Working Farm) the ducks will love - burying themselves under the mop as they would their Mum! Billy and Ellie moved in this afternoon and they absolutely love it!

Ellie was her usual mischievous self, and within 10 minutes had poked her head and shoulders through a gap in the wire - giving us all a heart attack! Thanks to the webcam we quickly spotted it and have further secured the pen with chicken wire. Yes, we do sit at our desks watching the webcam - even though the ducks are only in the next office! If you haven't yet had a look at the webcam, you really should. Just go to the News section on this website and select webcam. I have it set up on my desktop so I can keep an eye on them whilst I do my REAL work.

Because I must admit that very little work was actually done last week - how does one find the time when one has two lively, growing ducks to look after? Life is slowly returning to normal here in the Fundraising Office - it has to - our target for August alone is £59,500! Any help would be hugely appreciated
