A TRAFFORD care company is appealing for support from Messenger readers for its annual festive appeal.

For the fifth year running, Home Instead Senior Care in Sale and Altrincham has launched its ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ Christmas present appeal.

The gift-giving scheme will see donated gifts distributed among elderly people in our community in time for Christmas.

Last year more than 750 presents were donated and distributed, and the team at Home Instead is looking to top that number in 2017.

This year schools, including Heyes Lane Primary School, Wellington School and Altrincham College of Arts, will be getting involved in the appeal by making cards to accompany the presents.

If you would like to support the appeal and donate a present, the team from Home Instead Senior Care will be holding Donation Days at:

* Timperley Methodist Church Christmas Fayre on Saturday, November 18(10am-3pm).

* Sainsburys in Sale on Thursday, November 23.

* Asda in Broadheath on Thursday, November 30.

* Marks and Spencer in Sale on December 7.

Alan Savage, owner of Home Instead Altrincham and Sale, said: “We are so pleased to start the appeal at Timperley Methodist Church’s Christmas Fayre on November 18 (10am-3pm).

"It’s a great community event with lots of hand-made presents to buy or donate to the appeal. We also think it’s the best place for kids to meet Santa in the Grotto.

“Don’t worry if you can’t make any of these events as there are lots of local businesses who have kindly offered to be ‘collection stations’ this year. Thank you in advance from everyone at Home Instead Senior Care for your support with this appeal.”

You can donate a gift at any of the locations, or for further information please contact Home Instead Senior Care in Altrincham and Sale on 0161 870 1136 or visit http://www.homeinstead.co.uk/altrincham.
