TRAFFORD residents came together to pay their respects to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in wars, in Remembrance services across the borough.
The services gave people an opportunity to remember those who have given their lives in both world wars and in more recent conflicts.
The service in Sale saw a record turnout, with an estimated 1,000-plus taking part in the parade and their were 70 wreaths placed at the memorial.
Cllr Brian Rigby, of Mersey St Mary's ward, said: "The veterans on parade were proudly wearing their campaign medals and rightly drew the loudest applause as the parade marched passed the town hall steps, but the staggering number of young people on parade including cadets, scouts, guides and brownies who took part brought a tear to many eyes and were very evidence that our young people really care.
"It was a wonderful service and a marvellous occasion. An amazing tribute by the whole of our community."
Services were held at Altrincham, Bowdon, Hale, Hale barns, Partington, Sale, Stretford and Urmston.
