MOTHERS and daughters at an Altrincham school were bedecked in all things pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in honour of their recovering teacher.

An afternoon of tea cakes and a concert at Loreto Preparatory School raised almost £700 for the cause.

The school was raising money in honour of long serving and much loved teacher Anna Beecroft, who is currently making a strong recovery from the disease with the support of generations of current and former pupils, parents and teachers.

Mother, Natalie Wright said: “The girls love Mrs Beecroft and wanted to do everything they could to raise money and, more importantly, show just how much they love her.”

Fellow mother, Anne Marie Pegler added: “Pink is my favourite colour, probably because I wasn't allowed anything pink when I was growing up, so this is a wonderful opportunity to indulge myself and raise money for a truly wonderful cause.”

Loreto's choir entertained a packed main hall with a selection of classic songs including Down in the Jungle and the Skye Boat Song.
