ANDY Burnham is Greater Manchester's first elected mayor.
The Leigh MP won the race by a significant margin.
He won over Trafford, beating homegrown candidates Trafford Concil leader Sean Anstee and Lib Dem councillor Jane Brophy.
Mr Burnham took the borough with 35,492 votes, compared to Mr Anstee's 19,262 and Ms Brophy's 5359.
A total of 64,202 people in Trafford cast their vote yesterday - meaning Mr Burnham clinched more than half the votes.
