ON Sunday May 7, Northenden Walkers will be hosting the Mersey Valley Charity Walks.
This will be a non-competitive event intended to attract people and families who enjoy a good walk.
There are five routes to choose from, three miles up to 14 miles.
All of the walks will start and finish at the Mersey Valley Visitor Centre, near to Sale Water Park. Start times are from 10am.
Included is a feature for families with younger children – a three-mile walk called “The Catwalk”.
Children will have to spot and name 12 cats who are “hiding in the trees”.
They will be given a ‘treat’ at the first checkpoint and a certificate at the end of the walk.
Clear and easy to follow route instructions will be provided on the day so that no-one will get lost.
Participants will be invited to donate to the Blue Pig fund, which supports the Peak District Rescue Teams and the Peak and Northern Footpath Society, who provide vital services for walkers.
To take part or for more information, contact Alan Griffith at griffo.alan99@gmail.com or call 0161 998 6885. Entries to be in by April 30.
