YOUNG Muslims from Trafford will be holding a one minute’s silence for the victims of the Westminster terror attacks later today.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) will be holding a remembrance gathering in Salford Quays at 2.30pm today, in collaboration with the Faith Network for Manchester.

Dozens of members of the AMYA, the UK’s largest Muslim Youth organisation, will be displaying banners with the slogans: “Love for all, Hatred for none” and “Muslims for humanity”.

Participants will engage in dialogue with the public to share their thoughts and concerns about Islam.

Mansoor Khan, regional youth leader of the AMYA said: ''By turning out in such large numbers, we Ahmadi Muslim hope to demonstrate the true, peaceful teachings of Islam and the commitment of British Muslims to peace and harmony.

''The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing of God be on him, called on Muslims to be loyal to their nations and to always treat all people, of all backgrounds, with equal love and humanity.

''We hope to engage with the general public and foster greater unity through open and honest dialogue. We want to show people the peaceful Islam that we follow and denounce the perverted version of Islam promoted by hate preachers.''
