CONSTRUCTION work to provide a new kitchen and upgraded boiler room at Flixton Infant School is now complete.

Altrincham-based construction firm McGoff and Byrne were tasked with building an extension for new kitchen facilities at the school, following the introduction of Universal Free School Meals nationally.

School Headteacher Steve Bentham said the McGoff and Byrne team worked closely with the school throughout the build.

He added: “There are now around 160 very happy children enjoying hot, quality meals that have been prepared on site.

“Although a small project, the kitchen extension will have a great impact on the pupils at Flixton Infant School for years to come. The build, which took around 16 weeks to complete, has provided the school with a facility that is more than just a building. It opens up a whole range of possibilities for our pupils and for community events which we will enjoy exploring thanks to the work of McGoff and Byrne.”

Traditionally a North West regional contractor, McGoff and Byrne now operates on a national basis securing the ‘Northern Roots with National Reach’ Award at The Grafters Awards 2015.

Declan McGoff, Operations Director at McGoff and Byrne, said: “We are proud to have worked with Trafford Council for over 20 years and look forward to working with them for many years to come, helping to enhance local facilities in our local community.”
