THE generous staff at an Old Trafford firm helped to brighten up Christmas for families in need in Trafford.

All 330 of PH Media Group's employees donated brand-new gifts to the Altrincham Rotary Club and Salvation Army in Sale Christmas Present Appeal, helping to benefit the lives of less fortunate children and their families.

Their efforts boosted the successful appeal - which saw in total nearly 900 children receiving gifts and more than 450 families taking delivery of food parcels.

“Christmas is a time for giving but that doesn’t just apply to individuals – we feel it is important we do our bit as a company to strengthen the sense of altruism at this time of year,” said Christopher Berisford, finance director at PH Media Group.

“We’re very impressed with the overwhelming generosity of our staff and hope it can make a huge difference to those in need during the festive season.”

Employees from the company have also recently taken part in a Santa Dash, a festive five-kilometre run around the streets of Old Trafford which raised more than £3,500 for the Christie, one of Europe's leading cancer centres.

The event is the latest in a series of fundraising activities carried out by the firm under the banner of its charity, the PHMG Foundation.

The company has achieved its target of raising £19,000 during 2015 and has already started to plan new activity for 2016.
