A GROUP of Urmston Girl Guides aiming to broaden their horizons hit the bullseye with an evening of target shooting in Altrincham.
Rangers from the Urmston Girlguiding Senior Section, visited Altrincham Target Sports Centre recently as part of their ‘Look Wider’ programme.
The programme encourages the girls to try new activities and prepares them for independence and target shooting was top of the teens’ list.
Guide leader Liz Southern said that, despite some initial nervousness, the group of girls had a great time target shooting.
She added: “The girls were very keen to try shooting as it was something perceived to be slightly ‘daring’ and very different to anything they had done before. None of the girls had tried it before which is quite unusual for a sporting activity.”
