A CAMPAIGN to impose a 20mph speed limit on all residential streets in Altrincham is gaining momentum.
The Altrincham 20's Plenty for Us campaign has secured almost 250 signatures since its launch on September 12.
David Jerrome, who is spearheading the campaign, said reaction has been positive and that 90 percent of people campaigners have spoke to are in favour of the reduced speed limit.
Pam Howard, former 20’s Plenty campaigner, said: “So many Altrincham roads are dangerous; The Firs, Delamere Road, Regent Road, Enville Road - the list goes on. The council have done little to solve the problem.”
The next campaigning session will take place this Saturday September 26. Volunteers are asked to meet at Liv Café in Altrincham at 10.30am. Signatures will be collected at a town centre stall and door-to-door.
