FASCINATING old photographs of Sale feature in a new exhibition next month.

St Paul’s Parish Church, Sale, will be turning back the clock on Saturday, September 12 as part of Heritage Open Day.

The new exhibition, entitled ‘A walk around Sale’, will take visitors on a fascinating journey around the old town, featuring some rare and previously unseen historical photographs:

The exhibition will run from 10am to 5pm at St Paul’s Parish Church, Springfield Road, Sale.

The photographs offer a fascinating glimpse of bygone Sale and include pictures of the old Fortunes radio shop in School Road and a 1930s view from the spire of St Paul’s.

Pulford Road residents will be interested to see how their street looked when newly built in the early 20th century, while a rural view of what is now Belmont Road reveals Sale’s pastoral origins.
