ALTRINCHAM-based insurance firm Carole Nash celebrated its 30th birthday by donating £30,000 to charity.

Several good cause benefited from the company's generosity, including the Christie, the North West Air Ambulance Charity, the Counselling and Family Centre, Forever Manchester and Brake.

The past weeks have seen Carole Nash's CEO, David Newman, meet with the chosen charities – four of which are headquartered in the North West – and their respective representatives, to proceed to the official handover.

The Christie received a donation of £10,500, which has been credited to the Cancer Appeal Fund.

Corporate Fundraising Officer for The Christie, Mary McLaughlin, said: “We were delighted to receive this generous donation from Carole Nash Insurance, it was such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely way to celebrate their 30th birthday."

The £7,500 donated to the North West Air Ambulance Charity will directly contribute to the day-to-day running of its helicopters, helping its doctors and paramedics to provide rapid treatment to patients across the region.

The Counselling and Family Centre, based in Altrincham, received £6,000 which will help the charity continue the important work it has been carrying out in the community over the past 40 years.

"We cannot thank the team at Carole Nash enough. This wonderful donation to our charity will help us continue to offer our services free to those most in need, and to develop exciting new community projects", said manager Jo Allen.

Forever Manchester will use their £3,000 grant to fund six grassroots community projects across Greater Manchester,.

The charity Brake has been given £3,000 to enable it to continue to work towards stopping the needless deaths and serious injuries that happen on roads every day.

David Newman, Carole Nash's CEO, said: "Our donating £30,000 to these five worthy charities is our way of thanking our community for their support over the years."
