SIXTH formers at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls arrived back after the summer break to find
a brand new £30,000 common room - funded entirely by the school's PTA.
The common room project was spearheaded by last year's Year 11 school council and the facility is located at the sixth form centre.
It has been painted, carpeted and furnished with brand new seating in a bid to give the common room a completely modern look.
Head Girl, Christina Preece said, “It has been wonderful to see how supportive the PTA is of projects within the school, especially those run and driven by the girls themselves. This new common room is a legacy to be left for future sixth-formers who I know will enjoy using and relaxing in it, and potentially feel inspired for what they could accomplish in school if they really wanted to.”
