A COMMUNITY project run by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue has seen the renovation of Dunham Scout Camp.

The fire and rescue has successfully run the Prince's Trust programme from Stretford Fire Station for a number of years.

This enables young people from across Trafford to participate in a 12 week development course, which includes a combination of team building to enable young people to help their community and improve their own lives.

As part of the Prince’s Trust programme, the Dunham Scout Camp, will be handed back tomorrow, October 30, at 1pm.

The two week project has involved renovating part of the camp, sanding down and varnishing all of the doors and shutters and redecorating the four toilet blocks.

The young people have also been painting walls and ceilings and making improvements to the venue including a new wooden plaque and tidying up the outside area.

The official handover will at Dunham Park Scout Camp, Farm Walk, Altrincham, WA14 4SP. Everyone is welcome with refreshments provided.
