KATE Green, MP for Stretford and Urmston, highlighted the importance of telling family and friends your organ donation decision for National Transplant Week.
Kate attended a recent event at the Houses of Parliament organised by NHS Blood and Transplant and the British Kidney Patient Association to ‘spell out’ that she wants to be an organ donor. By doing this she is telling her loved ones and urging local people in Trafford to do the same.
The aim of this year’s Transplant Week campaign is to get people to ‘spell out’ their donation decision and encourages more people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.
Ms Green said: “If you have talked openly to your family in advance to tell them you want to be an organ donor, the decision is so much easier for them, as they will know what you would have wanted.”
