TRAFFORD Council has announced the beginning of a ‘new era’ for the borough, with its first council meeting to be live-streamed next week.
On June 11, residents will be able to log on for a live online transmission of Trafford’s annual council meeting.
Council leader, Cllr Sean Anstee, said: "Local democracy is important and impacts on each and every one of us. Trafford Council is committed to being as open, transparent and inclusive as possible.
“We are determined to do everything possible to enable residents to get closer to our democracy.
“We know from the turnout figures in the recent elections and the many ways local people get involved and work with us, how much interest in local democracy and influencing decision making there is.
“It is really exciting that people will from next week be able to see exactly what happens, as it happens in this way."
