TRAFFORD Council has been nominated for prestigious national award.
The local authority has been shortlisted for an award at the Annual Improvement and Efficiency Social Enterprise (iESE) Awards which celebrate innovation and transformation in the public sector.
Trafford Council’s submission focussed on five key principles: personalisation; promoting independence, integration; market management and efficiencies and demand management in the adult health and social care market which has resulted in £23m of savings over the past five years.
Executive councillor Michael Young said: “I’m delighted that we have been nominated for such a prestigious award.
“Being recognised in this way is testament to the dedication of our staff.
“In these times of austerity we are having to look at being more innovative in our approach while still ensuring that we offer a provision of the highest quality. They thoroughly deserve this award.”
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on March 4.
