TWENTY one police cadets took part in a passing out ceremony at Greater Manchester Police (GMP) headquarters after passing their probationary period.
The young cadets have studied law, visited specialist units, and taken part in team-building exercises.
They have also practiced drills which they performed on the night.
Dignitaries present on the night included chief constable Sir Peter Fahy, deputy police and crime commissioner Jim Battle the mayor of Trafford Cllr Dylan Butt, Kate Green MP, head of Lostock College Dawn Farrant and divisional chaplain Moira Slack.
Ms Farrent said: “The cadet programme supports young people to develop their interpersonal skills, to demonstrate their ability to lead and to grow in confidence.
“It also allows them to be active members of their local communities and to realise the importance of supporting those communities. I have seen a positive change in the young people from my school who have been a part of this programme.”
