SALE based disability charity Stockdales were recently invited to be complimentary sponsors of the ice hockey match between Manchester Phoenix and Peterborough Phantoms. Service users and staff from Stockdales, which supports people with severe disabilities, went to show their support at the game held at Altrincham Ice Dome.
The visit was organised as a result of The Phoenix Project, a community partnership between the Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club and The Heroes Project. The partnership provides opportunities for charities and community based organisations to experience the ‘thrills and spills’ of Premier League ice hockey.
Natalie James, fundraising manager at Stockdales said: “We were delighted to be asked to be complimentary sponsors of the game and we can’t thank Manchester Phoenix and the Phoenix Project enough. We took some of our service users along to watch the game and we all absolutely loved it, it was really exciting.”
