THE fifth annual Trafford College Star Awards ceremony took place in the college’s Aspire Restaurant Bar.
This year’s event attracted a record number of nominations - with 1,000 individual nominations from students for individual members of staff and teams.
Staff and students embraced the opportunity to recognise both teaching and business support staff who have made an outstanding contribution to their role within the college.
The finalists from each category were invited to attend a celebratory lunch at Aspire, where the winners were announced. Nominees and winners were presented with a certificate and gift vouchers from principal Sir Bill Moorcroft and chairman, Graham Luccock.
Award winners will now be put forward for the external QIA (Quality Improvement Agency) STAR Awards, for the chance to be recognised nationally for their achievements.
Sir Bill said: "The incredible response to this year’s Star Awards, especially by students, is testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff to the College and its learners. The quality of nominations has increased year on year, and I know that many members of staff have been extremely moved by some of the words they have read in the nominations they received.
“All our Trafford College Stars should be proud of their achievements, and we thank them for their ongoing dedication to their role and the College.”
