Kevin Bryan delivers his verdict on some of this week's CD releases Randy California & Spirit,"The Euro-American Years,1979-1983" (Esoteric / Cherry Red)-This lovingly assembled 6 CD anthology was compiled by Spirit archivist Mick Skidmore and offers a vivid insight into Randy California's musical output during the late seventies and early eighties. His 1982 Beggar's Banquet album "Euro-American" appears in its entirety alongside a generous helping of demos and live recordings, including Spirit's gig at Greensboro, North Carolina in April 1981 and the Randy California Band's set at the Reading Festival the following year, where the demon guitarist regaled his audience with much loved oldies such as "Nature's Way" and "I Got A Line On You" and his inimitable covers of two classic Dylan ditties,"All Along The Watchtower" and "Like A Rolling Stone."

John Renbourn Group,"The Enchanted Garden" (Talking Elephant)-The latest CD re-issue from the good people at Talking Elephant focusses attention on an impeccably crafted 1980 offering from Pentangle guitarist John Renbourn. His regular bandmate Jacqui McShee joined forces with the delightfully eclectic Mr.Renbourn as they delivered a wide ranging package which explored the subtle charms of medieval and Renaissance dance music, classic folk and Indian ragas. McShee's key role in the proceedings was reflected in her stunning vocal interpretations of three of the album's stand-out tracks, "The Plains of Waterloo," "The Maid on the Shore" and "A Bold Young Farmer."

Bush,"Live in Tampa" (Wienerworld)- The Mid Florida Ampitheater in Tampa was the sold out venue for one of the most impressive shows on Bush's recent Altimate Tour, and the great event has now been captured for posterity on this excellent three disc set. The contents extend over a Blu-Ray disc, DVD and audio CD as Gavin Rossdale and his energised cohorts entertain their 10,000 strong audience with a set list featuring the cream of the grunge veterans' back catalogue, most notably "Everything Zen," "Comedown" and "Glycerine."
