FANCY raising a toast over a few beers while supporting a host of charities from Warrington and further afield?

Oktoberfest, one of the region’s largest real ale festivals, returns to the Parr Hall with more than 70 beers and ciders from Thursday, October 24 to Saturday, October 26.

The Warrington Rotary Club festival has been a mainstay for beer lovers having run for 22 years and in recent years the team has increased its audience with the addition of a Prosecco and gin bar.

Brian Spooner, one of the organisers, said: “All this plus live music creates a lively atmosphere for visitors and beer enthusiasts.

“Over the years the event has raised in the region of £300,000 for both Warrington and international charities.”

The Thursday session will see the return of covers duo Kick Back Sunday, Friday’s band is Pink Pumps who have been playing new wave-influenced rock music since the 80s.

The Saturday afternoon session is accompanied with jazz from Lazy River and a performance by the Warrington British Sign Language Signing Choir.

And Saturday night features Oktoberfest regulars No Stamp Required, a pop and rock covers band who span the decades.

This year’s Oktoberfest charities are River Reeves Foundation, St Rocco’s Hospice, Petty Pool, Ella Together, Care UK Raleigh International, Water Aid, Rise Against Hunger and Home Start.
