The Altrincham and Sale Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Messenger, is looking to celebrate the achievements of local businesses and business people at a spectacular dinner hosted by BBC presenter Gordon Burns at the Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel on October 18.

Chamber president Tony Collier, in his monthly column, said: “This is a fantastic and incredibly-cost effective way of promoting businesses in the area, and we urge businesses to take the opportunity to put themselves or one of their suppliers/customers forward for nomination.”

Messenger editor Carla Flynn said: “We feature so many stories about the achievements of local businesses, and I would urge all these companies to submit an entry to these awards, which are free to enter.

“You have to be in it to win it as they say, and I look forward to featuring the winners in the Messenger.”

The categories are:

  • Small business of the year

  • Start-up business of the year

  • Retailer of the year

  • Customer care award

  • Property developer award

  • Heritage award

  • Professional services provider

  • Leisure and tourism award (to include restaurants, pubs and hotels)

  • Young entrepreneur of the year

  • Charity of the year or charity representative

  • International business person of the year

  • Business of the year

The deadline for nominations is now July 30.
