Latest updates and reaction on Bolton's new lockdown restrictions

Yesterday the Government ordered that restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs in Bolton will be immediately restricted to takeaway only and all hospitality venues will be required to close between 10pm and 5am. A ban on mixing outside households in public outdoor settings will also be enforceable by law. Bolton Council said on Saturday it was introducing tougher measures “with immediate effect”, with people asked not to mix with other households in any setting, either indoors or outdoors, and to only use public transport for essential purposes. It comes after a rapid rise in the number of cases, with Bolton having the highest rate of new infections in England.
